Graduate School Funding

Financial Support for Graduate School

Going to graduate school is an exciting endeavor and there are several options available that can help cover costs. Financial support comes in the form of assistantships, fellowships, scholarships, and loan opportunities. ATEC offers Teaching and Research Assistantships each academic year. UT Dallas also offers fellowships and scholarships. We recommend students fill out the FAFSA so there is an understanding of the federal aid that is available in the form of grants and/or loans.

At ATEC, we believe taking the step toward graduate studies is a big decision and we are here to help you along the way. Don’t hesitate to reach out and ask questions if you need help. Our advising team is ready to guide you on your journey.

In addition, we recommend students attend an online Graduate Studies Overview session. For session dates / times visit ATEC events.

Teaching and Research Assistantships

Funding is available for outstanding doctoral students for 4 years of study. Funding support includes a combination of Research and Teaching Assistantships. Assistanships for doctoral students include a 100% reduction of tuition and fees and a 12-month stipend. Qualified students in the MA and MFA programs may also be funded through Teaching Assistantships. Masters level Assistantships include a 100% reduction of tuition and fees and a 9-month stipend, though summer teaching options may be available. Students must be enrolled a minimum of 9 hours (during a fall/spring semester) and be in good academic standing; students are not permitted to hold additional employment while on Assistantship.

To learn more, students should attend an online overview session. For the next available session dates / times visit ATEC events.
