Sara and David Martineau

“Sara Martineau and her husband, David, have been wonderful supporters of the Callier Center over the years.”

— Dr. Tom Campbell, executive director of the UT Dallas Callier Center for Communication Disorders

Devoted advocates of the Callier Center for Communication Disorders and the University.

In 1993, after serving as chair for Dallas’ Crystal Charity Ball, Sara Martineau became interested in the work of UT Dallas’ Callier Center for Communication Disorders when the ball granted the center more than $650,000. Sara turned her interest into action by joining Callier’s foundation board, on which she served as president from 2006 to 2008.

Sara’s husband, David, later established an endowed professorship in honor of his wife, and its first recipient was named in 2010. That year, Sara received the Gifford K. Johnson Community Leadership Award at the annual UT Dallas Awards Gala. The award is given to non-alumni who are passionate supporters of the University.

In 2014, Sara received the Ruth and Ken Altshuler Callier Care Award, which is presented to an individual who has contributed to the betterment of the community and to advancing the care of patients with communication disorders.

Sara is also a lifetime member of the UT Dallas Executive Board and an emeritus trustee of the Callier board.
