Kara Oropallo
Assistant Professor of Practice
Kara Oropallo’s teaching and research focus surround creative management and the art (and joy!) of managing artists. Most recently, she worked in studio management on such films as Boss Baby and Trolls. Previous industry experience includes 12 years at DreamWorks Animation, where she worked in production on such films as The Croods and Rise of the Guardians. Oropallo also produced the behind-the-scenes documentary Rise of the Guardians: Creating an Epic.
Her professional background includes experience managing multiple departments including Story, Editorial, Visual Development, and Animation. Originally from Michigan, Kara graduated from The Ohio State University with a BA in Film Production and Screenwriting and a minor in Women in Film. She is currently writing her first book on how to manage artists in the creative process.
