Project Description

Opti-Speech is a collaborative project with The Callier Center for Communication Disorders, the Computer Science Department, and Bioengineering Department at UT Dallas to create a system for viewing and interacting with an animated 3D model of the human tongue. This system can be used for a wide range of speech therapy applications. The system involves motion capture technology, computer programming, 3D rigging and animation graphics to create a visualization of a subject’s tongue motion that they can watch in real-time as they are speaking.
