The dreamSpace project is based on the superimposition of various sensory elements that were combined to create a true, dream-like environment, with individual elements designed specifically with different aspects of dreaming in mind. The performative elements of dreamSpace, include a collaboration with fashion designer Charles Smith II and the Bruce Wood Dance Project. Smith designed “wearable poetry” for the dancers and Sherri Segovia designed the choreography. Audience members were encouraged to walk around the space and interact freely with the piece by reading the texts that adorned each dancer, while the visual and musical output reflected the tone and pitch of their voices.
