Professor of Computer Science and Interactive Media
WIdely recognized as a pioneer of computer graphics and computer sound generation, Mihai Nadin has made it his mission to connect new science and technology with the arts, literature, and design. His current research focus is anticipation/anticipatory systems, which contributes to his reputation as a world leader in his field.
Because of his interdisciplinary achievements, he has been described as a 20th-century Renaissance man, equally at home in the humanities and in science. Nadin’s education and expertise range from electrical engineering and computer science to aesthetics of interactive arts, semiotics, and human-computer interaction.
He holds advanced degrees in philosophy and technology (i.e., electrical engineering and computer science), and shares his knowledge and experience with students, colleagues and the public through courses, lectures, writing, and consulting. His most recent work includes Anticipation and Medicine. (Mihai Nadin, ed. Springer, 2017.) He is director of antÉ – Institute for Research in Anticipatory Systems.
